Invention Lab
Invention Lab is Connected Lane County's hands-on STEM summer program for high school students who are curious, creative, and ready to solve real-world challenges.
Over four weeks, participants work in teams to design, build, and test innovative solutions while developing technical skills, exploring human-centered design, and learning from mentors and staff members.
From brainstorming ideas to creating prototypes, youth gain experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation while connecting with peers who share their interests.
The application opens each spring for summer cohorts.
Paid Opportunity
Connected Lane County believes young people’s time and contributions have value. Participants receive a stipend based on attendance. Compensation details are shared during the application process and outlined during onboarding.
Who Can Apply?
We believe innovation is strongest when diverse perspectives are represented.
Invention Lab encourages participation from high school students who have been historically underrepresented in STEM fields, including students from rural communities, low-income households, and those who identify as BIPOC, female, or gender-nonconforming. No prior STEM experience is required. Youth of all skill levels are encouraged to apply.
