Manufacturing Excelerator

The Manufacturing Excelerator prepares young adults for careers in manufacturing through paid, hands-on training and workforce readiness. Participants learn foundational skills in workplace safety, CAD, 3D printing, CNC operation, and welding while gaining experience with industry tools and equipment. Those who complete our Professional Development series and demonstrate strong performance in the program may also have the opportunity to participate in a paid internship with a local manufacturing employer.

Applications typically open two months before each cohort begins. 

Paid Opportunity

Connected Lane County believes young people’s time and contributions have value. Participants in this program are compensated for their time and will be considered temporary employees of Connected Lane County. Compensation details are shared during the application process and outlined during onboarding.

What You'll Experience

  • Paid, hands-on manufacturing training

  • OSHA-approved safety education

  • CAD, 3D printing, CNC, and welding instruction

  • Career exploration and connections with local manufacturers

  • Opportunity to earn a paid internship based on program performance

Program Details

  • Ages 18-24

  • No previous experience required

  • Transportation assistance provided

  • Required PPE and work-related gear included

  • Lunch provided during training

September 28, 2026 - October 22, 2026

Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Spring 2027 Cohort

April 5, 2027 - April 29, 2027

Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Application opens on February 1, 2027. 

What to Expect

The Manufacturing Excelerator is offered in the fall and spring and includes:

  • A recommended professional development series before training begins. This is a requirement for those interested in paid internships.

  • Four weeks of accelerated hands-on technical training.

  • An opportunity for a paid internship with a local manufacturer for participants who demonstrate strong performance.

Specific dates and application deadlines are announced before each cohort.
